Relief etched itself onto Elsa’s pallid visage. For the briefest moments, she thought she could get away with not speaking about this. However, this wasn’t just anyone. If there was one person in this world who was able to extract secrets from her without even trying, it was Evelyn. No doubt, the words would escape Elsa’s lips before she could stop them. However, she had to hold onto the hope that would not be so.

As Evelyn made her way into the townhouse, she placed her hand over her belly & closed her eyes. For a few moments, she stood there with her back against the door as she tried to gather her strength. Once she was able to gather something [ after all, something was better than nothing ], she made her way towards Evelyn & sat down in front of her. She did her best to listen to what her best friend was saying, however, there were far too many things on her mind.

What was she going to do? What was she going to say to Hans?
Can they survive this? & what about Anna? How was her sister
going to react to this? Oh God, what were her PARENTS going
to say? As much as they [ loved ] Hans, this would kill them. No,
this would be the final thing that pushes them to kill HER.

Before she could stop herself, the tears fell once more. Almost immediately, Marshmallow came running over & placed his head on her thigh as he attempted to comfort her. This should be a happy occasion, & yet, she could not find a happy thing about this. While she already loved her baby with all her heart, she was terrified.

❝I’m                              I’m pregnant with Hans’ baby.

——— Shit, Evelyn, what am I going to do? I-I’m …❞

She wrapped her arms around her middle as tears continued to fall. ❝I am happy. So happy! B-but I’m fucking terrified. H-hans                           he’s going to hate me & the baby &           I can’t do this alone.

her fingers raised instinctively, as if to TOUCH, as if to comfort. but she didn’t. she
knew when Elsa needed contact and when she didn’t. instead she moved just inches
closer to her on the sofa, breath escaping in a barely audible sigh. she had met Hans
but a handful of times, but she’d gathered enough in that time to understand Elsa’s
     dismay.

but howwas Evelyn to be any help? she had had Flynn’s baby but two years ago,
and had given it up without so much as holding it. but Evelyn had never particularly
liked kids, not after raising her sister, and not after knowing her own parents. she
may not have been cut out for parenthood, but Elsa, she had a softer spot for children
than most knew. and Evelyn knew the very thought of giving it up would likely crush
     her.

“ what do YOU want to do? ”

the thought comes much easier than expected, but it couldn’t have been truer. Elsa
was one who would please every person on earth before she considered herself.
something Evelyn understood to a point, but could never carry out like Elsa. still,
she needed to be reminded, now more than EVER, that her opinion mattered.

and suddenly she did reach out, fingers
wrapping around Elsa’s, wet from her tears.

" you will NOT do this alone. Hans’s support or not. “
