arendelian-blog: "I know you didn't ask but no-one had spoken for fourteen minutes."
SHE CLOSESher thick book with a bit of an irritated thud, glancing through her dusted reading glasses to elsa, who was clearly not interested in helping. she sighed and brushed the pages against her fingertips, still looking DOWN as opposed to at the princess.
‘ PERHAPS THAT’Sbecause no one has anything to say. ‘
❝
oh, yes, of course. it is a PLEASURE to meet you at last, your eminence; both my wife and myself have been looking forward to your visit with a great deal of interest. i am lord navarro, the present earl of highhurst. ❞
‘ MANY THANKS, sir. I’ve likewise heard much god on both you & your wife. ‘
WHILE THEstiffness of cordial speech nearly makes her gag, the man is at least INTERESTING of sight, and of stories, not that she was one to ( believe ) such things given her own history, but one could daydream, especially at an event so tiresome.
‘ TELL ME,before I’m met with more policy questions, what was the last earl like. if you knew him, that is. highhurst seems to have kept its STABILITY in rocky times, I cannot say the same for munchkinland. ‘
❝ you will have to forgive me – i fear we have yet to be PROPERLY introduced. these functions can often leave many proprieties AMISS until it is far too late, don’t you think? ❞
‘ YOU’VE NOneed to apologize, sir. I can certainly agree to the MISGIVINGS of such events. many of the things my father insists we much attend seemrather ( tedious ) to me. but forgive my rambling, I am elphaba thropp, third eminant of munchkinland. ‘
“ I KNOW. But I just thought that, y'know, may-be I’d be… different? ———It was worth a shot. ”
SHE ALLOWS the snow monkey to perch on her arm, holding out a slice of apple for it to grab. really, if she weren’t used to it, it’d be tiresome. at least he had outgrown his scrawny background, but he certainly was no PICNIC.
‘ DON’T TAKEit personally ——- he has bad history with humans. I’m apparently just not human enough to bother him. ‘
spareprinsesse-blog: “Everything is amazing. Today is perfect. And I love you.”
she takes a step back from anna’s giddy dancing, knowing quite well how apt she was to become another STATISTIC to the princess’s clumsiness. still, it was rather AMUSING, watching how she jumped through the halls, eliciting laughs from villagers outside the palace windows who caught a glimpse of their royal princess anna.
‘ anna, please, it was just a simple spell! ‘
of course she’s HAPPY that anna enjoys her company, after all, the mere thought it so uncommon to her. but even still, the very mention of love, it still managed to make her fingers curl. it was too FRIGHTENING, but anna was naive in the best way imaginable, she still had the capacity to love easily. elphaba would never again have such a gift.
‘ I’m glad you like gown anna, it’ll be BEAUTIFUL for the ball. I have to give credit to anold friend of mine, she was rather FOND of the idea of conjuring more beautiful garments. ‘
a nod of her head is anna’s response as her slender fingers pick a chocolate to give away. witnessing elphaba in such a mood that isn’t often seen on her only lifts anna’s spirits higher. such a treat is delectable and she is glad to share some with her friend. always possessing a sweet tooth, anna can hardly get her fill of the truffles but elphaba could surely have her own share.
❝ sure ! it’s way better to eat sweets with a friend then by yourself. ❞
she grins childishly as she accepts the confection, grinning at anna. it’s so FOREIGN to her, but since relocating to arendelle, she found it happened more and more. it was odd, to her, someone who had grown over time to BELIEVE that she didn’t deserve such luxuries, such love.
‘ it MUST be, although I’ll confess, I’m none too experienced in such things. ‘
a squeak of surprise was drawn from from pink lips, as anna turned to face elphaba. slight shock of being found out gave away to hope that she could still have a few extra truffles, even if her friend had a sharper eye then she had planned for. a smile is painted on her lips at the sound of her friend’s laugh, it was something she was always happy to hear from elphaba.
❝ aw, i thought i was so sneaky … guess you’re too observant for me, huh? ❞
she gives a short laugh, shaking her head at the red-headed thief. of course, she KNEW the truffles were delectable, they had been made for the foreign affairs meeting the day prior. elphaba wasn’t normally one for sweets, but they had been rather good. she looks down at anna, smirking with a bit of CHILDISH glint in her eye.
‘ I WON’T tell your sister, that is, if you give me one. ‘
Anonymous: xander noticed his godmother's expression, but could care less. he deemed that his godmother needed to smile, after carefully selecting a flower for her, xander walked over to the witch. without another word, he sat next to her & smiled. ❝ how come you look sad? if I give you this flower, will it make you happy again auntie? here, this is for you. ❞ & he reaches for his godmother's hands and places the flower in them.
she cradles the bloom between her fingers, most often annoyed by little children, and usually flowers as well ––– allergies having plagued her since youth. she’d WARNED elsa when first she’d spoken of being with child, that she’d never had the PATIENCE to put up with them, bringing back only memories of her late sister, she who’d elphaba had NEVER been good enough for.
––––– but then there was ALEXANDER, who quite i r r i t a t i n g l y had found his way onto her better side. maybe it was because she saw more of herself in the reserved yet wanderlusting child than she wished to admit, but something about him, between the pieces that resembled elsa, to the pieces that were distinctly his.
‘ THANK YOU, alexander. but you needn’t WORRY for me, what you should worry about is gerda finding you’ve picked from the gardens again! ‘
